As with every first day, it can be very exciting but it can also come with the fear of the unknown/new. This onboarding process is here to give you time, time to know each other, time to adapt, time to land, and make you feel comfortable πŸ™‚ To make your arrival sweeter, your buddy is here to accompany you. This week you're priority nΒ°1 for your manager & your team, they booked time to be available for you. Also, your People partner Fanny Le Gallou is here for anything you may need. Level 2️⃣ Day 2️⃣ THE PEOPLE

Behind Strapi, there is a story, a lot of effort, fails, and most of all a team. Let's get to know more Strapiers and their story.

To make sure to meet (virtually) everyone in the team, schedule 1:1 meetings with Strapiers. Those meetings have to be split into a whole month πŸ˜‰

Review the to learn how our company is structured and who reports to whom.
You should already have meetings planned to learn how Strapi's department work (during your first 2 weeks):
  • Company Pierre Burgy
  • Marketing Victor Coisne
  • Customer Success Maxime FREMY
  • Sales Quentin Sinig
  • People & Talent Fanny Le Gallou
  • Engineering Alexandre Bodin or Marion Kamoike-Bouguet Except: Product AurΓ©lien GEORGET or Julien Abriel (as you'll have specific training in the coming days)
Scheduled a 1:1 meeting with all the department leaders you don't have a meeting planned so far (during your first 2 weeks): CPO AurΓ©lien GEORGET CUSO Jim Laurie VP Marketing Victor Coisne CTO Alexandre Bodin Head of Finance & Legal Elizabeth Heinen Head of People & Talent Fanny Le Gallou
Schedule a 1:1 call with all your department team members or squad for 30 mins or (during your first 2 weeks)
Schedule at least 20 calls in your first month for 30 mins with 20 different Strapiers within another department than yours.
If you join Donut, a Donut "replaces" a 1:1 during your first month.
Check their player profiles to get to know them better and find new interesting topics to chat about. Start writing yours.
Write and add your profile presentation to the page.
Your and your teammates are here.
Send a picture of both you and your buddy to the marketing team for our Instagram account and post it on Slack also.
image
Also, schedule your presentation in Strapiers calendar for Friday next week with a Zoom link. Use team@strapi.io to invite everyone 😊 The booking slot should be 30 minutes. ⚠️ Please invite them to "optional" when creating the invite on Gmail. Not everyone will be able to attend your presentation and it's ok. You may not be able to attend all the coming ones either.

πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.

Level 3️⃣ Day 3️⃣ THE STORY

At Strapi we feel it is very important to understand our history/ story. Please make yourself comfortable and take a moment to read.

image
We'd like you to start with our blog, where you will see articles written by people that have left Strapi as well as others written by Strapiers. We feel that the way we write articles and stuff is a good means to understand both our history and culture. It is also a good way to discover our roadmap, the launched product, and our environment. Feel free to suggest improvements to the written articles.
Here are some of the most important articles about Strapi story
And then read the
πŸ“œ
Strapi Story
written by our beloved co-founders, Jim, AurΓ©lien, and Pierre. The goal here is to go over our story to get a glimpse of what happened since the creation of Strapi and not lose a piece of it!

πŸ‘‹πŸ½ You might read a lot of new words in these articles if they're not in the

yet, please ask your manager or buddy to add them while explaining to you their meaning πŸ˜‰

At the end of the day, please send to your manager feedback, corrections regarding our writing or our articles, and a few questions for each of them.
πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.

Level 4️⃣ Day 4️⃣ THE PRODUCT
image

In order to understand what is Strapi, every employee should be a Strapi expert. We have created a series of step by step tutorials that should help both the community and us getting to know the product we are building. Becoming an expert cannot be made in a day πŸ˜‰ however it has to start somewhere.

Today’s boss is: Creating a Strapi blog. The goal of this step is to make you discover our product and get feedback regarding our tutorial series.

Start the Build a blog with Strapi and Gatsby tutorial. If you're not technical, your buddy will go through it with you thanks to this document.
πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.
Level 5️⃣ Day 5️⃣ THE PRODUCT II
image
Take some notes about what you liked and didn't like with Strapi (it will be useful for week 2).

Here it is:

Level 6️⃣ Day 6️⃣ THE COMPANY & THE MINDSET

To understand better how Strapi works, please read

Every section of the section on Notion.

You'll learn among others the at Strapi, how to take some time off , when is every and our process.

Every page of the
Strapi Handbook
Strapi Handbook
section on Notion.
Do you have someone you'd like to thank? You can do it in the #shoutout Slack channel 😊
Please follow us on Instagram, Twitter (you can also follow your fellows Pierre, Jim, Daniel,...) Facebook, Youtube, and LinkedIn.

πŸ‘‹πŸ½ Do you have some questions? feedback? Please send a message to your People partner Fanny Le Gallou.

πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.

Level 7️⃣ Day 7️⃣ THE PRESENTATION I

At Strapi we feel it is very important for everyone to understand the ecosystem in which Strapi evolves; the headless CMS ecosystem, our competitors, and all the area that surrounds our products. We feel that a study of our competitors, headless CMS trending would be a good start. All Strapios have to make a study case about both the Headless CMS trend and our competitors. This study case will also help us keep our competitors benchmark updated.

What do we expect from you?

Make a Google Slides presentation (you can use this template, please make sure you duplicate it) with the structure below:

I - Headless CMS definition

II - Benchmark and compare at least 5 of our competitors, included Strapi (3 will be enough if you're a non-tech person 😊)

- Pros & cons of each one

- What do you like/ dislike?

III - What could be improved in Strapi

NB: If you are doing your presentation the same day as other Strapios, please do not share/let access to others. You are not supposed to see other Strapio's presentation before D-Day πŸ™‚ NB2: Not everyone will be able to attend your presentation and it's ok. You may not be able to attend all the coming ones either.

➑️ The presentation should last between 15 and 20 minutes.

➑️ Then, 10 minutes of πŸ”₯ chat with the team.

➑️ Don't worry about the choices of the competitors. Your presentation will be different than the others. Everyone has its own words to describe what a Headless CMS is and our competitors. Some people like to share a role-related presentation and others prefer to highlight the design elements, the user flow. Most technical people like to talk more about the API, the documentation, etc.

This presentation has 3 goals:

  • Ensure that you understand the market and you start to remember a few names of our competitors.
  • Help the team to be up-to-date with the new cool kids in town (our competitors). And also, show the progress in terms of features of the other products.
  • Help the team to get to know you and to work with you better (to be added: User Manual).

πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.

Level 8️⃣ Day 8️⃣ THE VISION & MARKET

Be ready for an intense deep dive into Strapi market and product vision.

image

The Product team (AurΓ©lien GEORGET or Julien Abriel) will lead you through it with 2 deep sessions (1h30 this morning and 1h30 this afternoon). You'll draw together ✏️, answer a quiz βœ…, and we hope, learn a LOT πŸ™ŒπŸ½ about Strapi's world. Please prepare some questions you may have before the meeting, and take advantage of this moment together to discuss those.

πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.

Level 9️⃣ Day 9️⃣ THE PRESENTATION II
Take some time to finish your presentation to be ready for tomorrow.

πŸ‘‹πŸ½ If you want to run through your presentation, your buddy is here for you πŸ˜‰

πŸ“¬ Checkpoint: end your day by sending a summary of your journey, feelings, and questions to your buddy and your manager.
