🌐 As a global remote-first company, Strapi encourages Strapiers to work from wherever they are most pleased!
Following some instructions, everyone can ask to work abroad (for less than 6 months in the year, due to legal and fiscal requirements).
❓ Working abroad: working from another location (country) from the one written in your contract.
NB 1: European and non-European citizen processes have to be different for legal reasons.
NB 2: Non-European processes will be documented as soon as needed, as all cases have different legal requirements.
You must follow this process if you work from adifferent time zone.
How do I request a period of working abroad?
👉
Only for stays longer than 2 weeks and less than 6 months
You need to communicate it to your manager and the People Team and keep Strapi informed
I discuss it with my manager 1 month before at least (and before filling in the form) to ensure it will not have any impact on the teamwork
Fill in a form request 1 month prior to my departure
If you’re employed via Oyster, their travel policy allows working during travel, but only for up to 6 cumulative weeks within any single jurisdiction (i.e., per country) in a single 12-month period. The six-week period consists of 30 working days and 12 non-working days (usually weekends).
If you plan on working and taking time for leisure in a single country, please know that we can only support your continued employment if your total travel within that country does not exceed a total of ninety (90) days in a 12-month period.
If you need more time, Oyster needs to investigate if it’s possible. Please contact @Mylene LAOT and we’ll see with Oyster if it’s possible.
Furthermore, Oyster asked you to contact them directly at least 4 weeks before your travel date to ensure everything is processed on time. You can also view the following articles in case you have some other questions or would like to plan according to the internal policy of Oyster:
